The government has decided about SZÉP cards
Minister of Economic Development Márton Nagy has set a new deadline and calls on SZÉP card holders to use their available SZÉP card balance in time.

Many people use it as a number one method of payment
SZÉP cards can be used with favorable taxation until May 31, 2023, the Minister of Economic Development told MTI on Thursday.
Amounts credited to the sub-accounts of SZÉP cards until October 15, 2022 can be used with favorable taxation until May 31, 2023, after which the cardholder must pay the entire tax content. According to the government’s decision, the 15 percent discount can be used for one year in the future.
According to Minister of Economic Development Márton Nagy, there is currently about HUF 100 billion in dormant money in the accommodation, hospitality and leisure sub-accounts of the SZÉP cards, despite the fact that during the coronavirus epidemic, the government abolished the usage limits in order to encourage use, thus allowing, for example, transfers between sub-accounts permeability.
