Csaba Dömötör: despite all the difficulties, the strengthening of tourism can be seen
The strengthening of tourism can be seen despite all the difficulties, the number of guest nights this year will be almost 8 million more than in 2021 and thus only 10 percent behind the record year of 2019, said the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office in Budapest on Wednesday.

Last year, domestic tourism had the strongest summer of all time
Csaba Dömötör, at the presentation of the Sándor Kőrösi Csoma Award, the highest state honor in the field of tourism and hospitality, said: the awardees have already proven themselves and added that it is necessary to ensure that Hungarian tourism not only reaches the level before the coronavirus epidemic, but also also passes it. He pointed out that the pace of the restart after the coronavirus epidemic in 2021 was faster than the EU average: last year, domestic tourism brought the strongest summer of all time.
The results were achieved by the representatives of the tourism sector in a “shaking period”, which proves that they are working with all their hearts to ensure that this sector continues to be the engine of the Hungarian economy, he noted.
