Digital strategist: Digital training of employees should speed up the construction of a digital society
60% of global GDP already comes from digital value chains, and international data assets are expected to exceed one billion terabytes by 2025. For this reason, sooner rather than later, all organizations must become digital – it was said at the ICT Global Grand Opening information technology conference. However, in order to ensure competitiveness, Hungarian society as a whole must also become digital, and the first step for this is the extensive training of employees in basic digital skills – pointed out digital strategist Ágoston Hortobágyi at the event.
Based on the 2022 indicator (DESI), which measures the development of the digital economy and society, Hungary ranks 22nd among the 27 EU member states, and performs below the EU average in all examined areas. The coronavirus epidemic, on the other hand, threw another shovel at the already speeding digitization. More and more services have been transferred to the online space. This is precisely why the digital preparedness of Hungarian society comes to the fore, as it is a basic condition for the strengthening of a competitive, knowledge-based economy in the 21st century.
