Association of Dietitians: everyone has the right to proper nutrition
According to the European Association of Dietitians, everyone has the right to adequate nutrition and not to be hungry.

They believe that dietary care should be integrated into public health
Everyone has the right to adequate nutrition and not to go hungry. The correct diet helps to prevent certain diseases, reduces their risk, reduces the time of hospital stay, improves the efficiency of medical treatment and the quality of life; all of this also reduces healthcare expenses – read the statement issued by the European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians – EFAD.
Last week, EFAD held its 33rd annual general meeting in the Hungarian capital, and on this occasion, EFAD, the association comprising the dietetic organizations of 27 European member states, issued the Budapest Declaration.
The document states: dietitians are the only healthcare professionals who have the appropriate expertise to plan, conduct and control nutrition therapy for prevention purposes or for the treatment of nutrition-related disorders. At the same time, their role goes beyond healthcare: they generally improve the population’s nutrition through their research and cooperation with governments, industry, and academia.
