Discover Local, the new digital travel guide for Mercure hotels, offers guests a unique opportunity to discover Europe’s cultural and culinary treasures like the locals do. The program was designed in collaboration with Alpaca Maps, a digital mapping tool that offers travelers easy-to-use online directions. The aim of Discover Local is to give Mercure guests a deeper insight into the heart of the destination and experience experiences that go beyond the traditional tourist itineraries. The new recommendation also includes Debrecen and Tokaj – Turizmus.com pointed out.

According to Vincent Moskovtchenko, Accor Europe North Africa’s Deputy General Manager responsible for mid-range brands, Mercure hotels not only offer comfortable accommodation, but also open the door to explore local attractions, thereby providing their guests with a unique experience. The Discover Local program offers a variety of programs throughout the year, which offer many experiences, from learning handicrafts to getting to know local cuisines.

In Hungary, Mercure Tokaj, Mercure Debrecen and two Budapest hotels, Mercure City Center and Mercure Korona, have also joined the Discover Local program. Hotels offer itineraries that showcase local cultural and natural attractions as well as gastronomic specialties.

For example, in Belgrade, guests can explore the city’s historic streets, enjoy the flavors of traditional Serbian cuisine, and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the bohemian Skadarlija Street. In Gdansk, you can learn about the meeting of the past and the present by walking along the cobbled streets, while also discovering the city’s rich maritime heritage and gastronomic offer.

In Tokaj, guests can visit the famous Tokaj Hétszőlő vineyard, where they can taste the world-famous Tokaj wine, while in Debrecen they can get to know the city’s landmarks, such as the Great Church and the Déri Museum.
