The Mercure chain is connected to the traditions of Debrecen
Elements inspired by the nationally and internationally recognized Debrecen Flower Carnival appear in the recently handed over hotel of the Mercure chain in Debrecen. We will soon find out why the hotel’s dreamers chose this, and in what we find the floral elements.
Before we get into these details, it is necessary to get to know the hotel chain a little. The Mercure group conveys a sense of life all over the world and provides freer, lighter experiences in an elegant, fashionable milieu, while trying to blend in with its identity and connect with the atmosphere of the welcoming environment. As a result, for example, the hotel in France was inspired by the French kiss, the one in Scotland by the legends of Loch Ness, while the interior of the building in Debrecen was inspired by the Flower Carnival in Debrecen. The flowers and the carnival atmosphere perfectly matched the hotel’s casual, exciting and tasteful values.
“(…)was based on the Debrecen Flower Carnival, which is being organized for the 56th time this year, so we can definitely talk about a local tradition. The theme of the carnival of flowers is most visible in the design of the rooms and interior common spaces – it echoes on the walls and furnishings as well as in the colors used.”
– can be read in an interview with Péter Bordás, the lead architect designer of BORD Építéz Stúdió.
