The Sausage Festival of Békéscsaba lasted from Thursday to Sunday
Ruszinkó Ádám, Deputy Minister of State of the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) responsible for Tourism told in Békéscsaba on Thursday that in the first eight months the tourist traffic in the South Plains region increased by 14 percent and Békéscsaba has a leading role in it. This is a result of persistent and deliberate construction – he said, adding that he hope that the new city administration continues to thrive tourism, which began during the rule of the previous cabinet.
Szarvas Péter Békéscsaba’s newly elected independent mayor called Békéscsaba as the sausage capital. The Sausage of Békéscsaba was declared as a Hungaricum in 2013, but at the older ages it was held at every house as a value – he recalled. The mayor surprised the festival visitors with a sausage cake. (MTI)
