The Spar Budapest Marathon may break a record

Twenty-eighth edition of the Spar Budapest Marathon will take place on Sunday. According to the traditions, the pros will compete for the national championship title on the classic 42.195 kilometer distance.

Last year's competition, which is Hungary's largest recreational sports event, brought a record participation of 19 200 people on various distances, and it is possible that the record will be broken this year. Last year 3585 runners have finshed the distance, now a record number of 4,000 is expected.

The marathon will start at 9:30 am from the Heroes' Square. (MTI)
