FAO: a decline in global food prices
The average food prices fell globally in January, compared to December 2013 – the Thursday released analysis of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) shows.
The organization calculates the food price index each month. The index became 203.4 points in January, after the 206.2 points of December. A year earlier, in January 2013, the index was 210 points. In 2013 food prices declined by 1.6 percent. (MTI Eco, Világgazdaság Online)
