The guest traffic in rural tourism reduced last year
In rural tourism, the number of guests and guest nights both decreased in 2012. The type of accommodation was sent to floor by the 2011 legislative changes, but the struggling of rural tourism continued last year.
While earlier the season lasted from April to September and guests stayed for up to two weeks, now they arrive to long weekends mostly, between June and August.
The industry hopes that the results of the development projects launched in 2008 are starting to mature now and the quality of services can improve – Szalay-Zala Andrea, Secretary of the National Association of Rural and Agro Tourism told Világgazdaság. (F. I., Világgazdaság Online)
