Euro-area inflation declined in September
The fall in consumer price increase was lower than expected, mainly due to lower September consumer price growth in the euro area, according to a preliminary report released on Tuesday by Eurostat, the European Union’s statistical office.
In September, consumer price increase in the 19 Member States of the euro area was 0.9 percent lower, the lowest since August 2016 – according to Eurostat. In August, the annual price increase was 1.0 percent, and analysts expected the same in September. (MTI)
