EU retail sales declined
Monthly retail sales declined in March in the European Union, but increased in the euro area.
The EU’s statistical office (Eurostat) on Thursday announced that according to seasonally adjusted data, retail trade grew by 0.3 percent in the 19-member euro area, compared to February, while in the European Union decreased by 0.2 percent.
In March, retail sales increased by 2.3 percent in the euro area and by 2.5 percent in the EU.
According to Eurostat data, the annual level of retail sales growth in March was 5.7 percent in Hungary. (MTI)
