EU goods turnover surplus has fallen compared the United States
The European Union’s trade surplus against the United States declined in the first quarter of this year, but China’s deficit has increased, according to the preliminary data published by the European Union’s Statistical Office (Eurostat) on Thursday.
Without seasonal adjustments, EU exports to the United States increased by 8.2 percent to 107.3 billion euros in January-March and imports to 73.4 billion euros, which is an increase of 16.3 percent. The surplus was 33.9 billion euros, compared to the 36.2 billion euros of a year before. (MTI)
