Food consumption reduced in the Czech Republic last year
On an annual level food consumption in the Czech Republic declined by 1.6 percent last year – turns out from the report on the state of agriculture last year in the Czech Republic, which was approved by the Czech government this week.
“The changes in food consumption in 2013 is in line with the evolution of retail purchasing power” – the document says.
According to the official statistics, the Czech population's purchasing power fell by 1.1 percent last year on an annual basis. The spending on consumption, however, increased by 1.7 percent on an annual basis. (Kokes János, MTI)
