Alcohol consumption decreased in Slovakia
The per capita alcohol consumption in Slovakia shows a downward trend – the pluska.sk Slovak news portal wrote on its website referring to the current statistics of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on Tuesday.
In 2013 a Slovak citizen drank alcoholic drinks appropriate to an average of 9.9 liters of pure alcohol. This amount was about ten percent less than in 2000, when the amount was 11 liters per capita.
Now Slovakia is on the 15th place of OECD’s alcohol consumption per capita list of 44 countries.
The list is led by Lithuania with an average of 14.3 liters per capita, followed by Austria with 12.2 liters, Estonia on third place with 11.8 liters, the Czech Republic with 11.5 liters and Russia on fifth place with 11.2 liters. (Starovic Tibor, MTI)
