Decrease in the number of visitors of the Oktoberfest
The visitor number of the Oktoberfest decreased by one hundreds thousand, compared to last year. The beer festival ended on Sunday. 6.3 million visitors drank 6.5 million liters of beer.
In 2013 6.4 million visitors were registered and 6.7 million liters of beer were sold. The organizers believe that the downturn occurred because of the bad weather. Revenue has not reduced, because the beer was sold at a record price for an average of 10.1 euros per liter.
The cool, rainy weather resulted in good food sales. The guests, in addition to the tens of thousands bratwurst and roast chicken ate 112 oxen and 48 calves, after last year's 114 oxen and 54 calves. (MTI)
