Retail sales declined in the EU
On a monthly basis, the retail sales in the 28 member European Union (EU) declined by 0.4 percent in July, in the euro zone that ha 18 member states the retail sales also fell by 0.4 percent – the EU's statistical office, the Eurostat announced on Wednesday in a statement.
In July, the sales of food, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products declined by 0.5 percent iin the EU, fuel sales decreased by 0.3 percent, while the trade of non-food retail products (clothing, electronic equipment, medical supplies, etc.. ) declined by 0.2 percent.
In the Eurozone, the turnover of food, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products declined by 0.6 percent the food, while the trade of non-food retail products fellby 0.2 percent. Fuel sales declined by 0.5 percent. (MTI)
