Employment has fallen in Europe
Employment declined in the euro area and the European Union in the first quarter, compared to the last quarter of last year.
The European Union’s statistical office (Eurostat) said on Tuesday that the number of employees in the eurozone fell by 0.2 percent in the first quarter of this year, compared to the last quarter of last year. A modest decline of 0.1 percent occured in the EU as a whole.
