Declining turnover in the pesticide market in 2024
Based on the data received, the net sales revenue of total pesticide sales in 2024 was 133 billion forints, which was 10.5 percent lower than in 2023. The sales prices of products with different mechanisms of action developed as follows among the products observed in the period under review: the average price of herbicides decreased by 14 percent, fungicides by 17 percent, other products by 6 percent, and insecticides by 4 percent. On the other hand, the price of bulk packages increased by 8 percent.

The input price of pesticides decreased by an average of 10.7 percent in the reporting year compared to the previous year. The costs of pesticides in 2024 amounted to 7.5 percent of the total agricultural current consumption.
The highest demand in 2024 was for herbicides (37.2 percent)
Followed by other products (21.9 percent), fungicides (18.8 percent), insecticides (17.2 percent) and finally bulk packages (4.9 percent). In terms of value. In terms of value, herbicides also accounted for the largest share of annual sales (39.8 percent), followed by fungicides (28.2 percent), then insecticides (14.5 percent), bulk packages (8.8 percent) and other products (8.7 percent). Within total sales (in volume), the share of fungicides and other products did not change compared to 2023, while that of insecticides and bulk packages decreased by about 15 percentage points, while the share of herbicides continued to increase.
