Decreasing prices in Slovakian shops
The Slovakian chain of stores had to reduce their prices, because their costumers were shoppping in Hungary due to the weak Forint.
The Hypernova, the Ahold, operator of Albert chain of stores and the Tesco Stores Slovakia are also take account on the Hungarian prices. Some categories of goods, are offered 30-40 percent cheaper than the shops in Hungary. In particular the prices of the most commonly purchased foods such as bread, milk, oil have declined – cites Hírszerző the article of the Hungarian languaged Új Szó newspaper. According to the analyst of Terno market research agency reducing prices is the only way to stop the shopping tourism. Ahold’s price reduction affects 400, the Tesco’s approx. 1000 products. The price reduction will probably reach other sectors soon.
