Global food demand may decline
Global demand for food is growing slower over the next decade, while thanks to the increase of the agricultural productivity and the slight increase of agricultural areas the needs to be covered, which will resiult in stable prices and moderate agricultural markets – the joint annual report of OECD and FAO released on Monday.
The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) pointed out that in the next ten years, between 2016 and 2025, the food consumption’s growth rates are likely to slow down by the moderate economic growth, the slower population growth and the changes in consumer habits.
