Lunch carrying less weight

According to a study titled “Eating habits” by GfK Hungária Piackutató Intézet , the significance of daily meals is changing. Dinner is becoming the main meal of the day for an increasing number of people. While two years ago lunch was the main meal for 72 per cent of the people interviewed, today lunch is the main meal for only 64 per cent. The number of people who never have breakfast is also growing (9 per cent). Most Hungarians have three meals a day, though the percentage of those who have more is also growing (37 per cent). 31 per cent of adults “eat irregularly”. The percentage of people who have a warm dinner every day grew 31 from 27 in two years. Cheese, pasta and traditional soups have become more popular, while poultry, potatoes and fruits are eaten less frequently. Consumption of mineral water has become more frequent, while that of tea and milk is less popular than it was two years ago. White bread, coffee and traditional soup are still the tree most frequently consumed foods.
