Retail sales started well in the Czech Republic
In January, retail sales in the Czech Republic increased by 4.9 percent year-on-year. In December, the figure was also 4.9 percent, the Czech Bureau of Statistics announced in Prague on Friday.
Retail sales in the Czech Republic have been steadily increasing since June 2014. In January, the biggest growth was again seen in online store traffic.
Online store sales grew 16.9 percent year-over-year and household goods sales 11.8 percent in January, said Marie Bousková, director of statistics. The turnover of IT products also increased by two-digits – by 10 percent. (Kokes János, MTI)
