In April, calendar-adjusted retail sales in the Czech Republic fell 10.9 percent from a year earlier, the Czech Statistical Office announced in Prague on Friday.
The decline, which can be explained by measures against the coronavirus pandemic, affected all businesses.
At the same time, the turnover of online stores and parcel services increased by 47.5 percent, the highest growth in the last decade and a half.
The statistical office also drew attention to the fact that, in view of the emergency measures, it cannot be ruled out that the April data may change significantly later. (Kokes János, MTI)
