SPAR strengthens family enterprises
By the end of 2014 there were 24 franchise partners in the Hungarian SPAR Partner Programme. From 2015 not only family shops can join the SPAR network but SPAR employees can also take over already operating stores. Erwin Schmuck, the managing director of SPAR Hungary told that about half of Austrian SPAR stores work in a franchise system. He added that retailers who join can retain their independence and enjoy SPAR’s high-level services. Gabriella Heiszler, SPAR Hungary’s general manager informed that the company offers international know-how to family enterprises, which can make them more profitable. On 21 January 2015 another SPAR Partner store opened in Budapest: Pál Fodor and Béla Kozma are the owners of the 300m² Újpest store, where 15 people work. The new SPAR franchise store benefits from product delivery six times a week, quality meat products from SPAR’s meat plant, comprehensive marketing support, a modern IT system, loyalty promotions and the SuperShop programme.
