Almost a third more Hungarians traveled to Croatia last year
Compared to the previous year, almost a third more Hungarians traveled to Croatia in 2022, the data is close to the numbers registered in the record year of 2019, the director of the Hungarian representation of the Croatian Tourist Association told MTI.
According to Ivana Herceg, last year 602,000 Hungarian tourists spent 3 million guest nights in Croatia, which means 31 percent more guests and 21 percent more guest nights compared to 2021. The data are close to the record year of 2019 in terms of both the number of guests and the number of guest nights, both figures are only 7 percent short of them.
The most popular region for Hungarians is still the Kvarner Bay, where 850,000 guest nights were spent, 605,000 on the Istrian peninsula, and 538,000 in the Split-Dalmatian county. Among the settlements, 167,000 Hungarian guest nights were registered in Crikvenica, 166,000 in Vir, and 106,000 in Rovinj.
