Organic foods in Europe
EuroCommerce opines that European farmers are unable to keep up with the growing demand for organic food and they offer their products at prices that are too high. The organisation thinks that the main reason of this is the overregulation of the sector. Various certifications and environmental requirements only make organic products more expensive, and this has a negative influence on sales. EuroCommerce director Christian Verschueren told: they want the EU to simplify regulations.
