Isn’t Wizz Air promoting Ryanair?
Wizz Air’s online platform operates with the solution of presenting the current flight offers in a sliding slideshow. But a recent case raises the question: do they really want to draw attention to Ryanair flights?
The first offer on the Wizz Air website (the second on the English page) offers a tempting option to travel to Jordan, “with Ryanair”. Did you immediately suspect that something went wrong, perhaps the fault of a careless graphic designer, or maybe someone tampered with the system?
However, the reality is much simpler and more interesting. If we take a closer look at the offer, we realize that it is not about Ryanair flights, but about routes operated by Ryanair, for which Wizz Air offers its own tickets.
Ryanair recently stopped its flights to Amman, which means that passengers stranded there have to transfer their tickets. In this situation, Wizz Air came to the rescue by providing a discounted rebooking option for flights between Amman and Hungary. The “offer” clearly wants to communicate this possibility, which is why passengers should click on the “View offer” button.
