Consumer prices in the euro area and in the EU increased at a slowing pace in May
Annual comparable consumer prices increased in the euro area and in the European Union in May.
According to figures, published by the European Union’s Statistical Office (Eurostat) on Friday, consumer prices increased by 1.4 per cent in May in accordance with the analysts’ expectations. In April, the annual price increase was 1.9 percent, while a year ago a 0.1 percent consumer price decline was measured.
In the 28-member EU, the consumer prices in annual comparison increased by 1.6 percent. In April, 2.0 percent and in May last year a 0.1 percent consumer price decline was measured. (MTI)
