CIB Bank: GDP in Hungary could grow around 3 percent this year
This year the Hungarian GDP could grow around 3 percent, according to CIB Bank analysts, mainly due to the increase in domestic demand and the use of EU funds – Trippon Mariann, senior analyst of the financial institution said at a press conference in Budapest.
He said that the budget will remain stable this year, the momentum of the general government deficit reduction can halt, but the deficit is not expected to exceed the Maastricht criterion of 3 percent.
He emphasized that the forint exchange rate this year will remain within the 305-315 HUF / EUR band – according to the expectations of CIB’s analysts, while inflation may be 2.7 percent on an annual average, but only reaches the inflation target of the central bank (3 percent) in 2018. (MTI)
