Targeted advertising messages from Twitter

The Twitter will soon introduce the concept of “promoted” tweet, which is similar to Google’s advertising mechanism.

Twitter has currently 160 million users, and about one-fifth of them follow brand-or product-oriented mikroblogs. Shiva Rajaraman, product manager of Twitter presented the idea in London at the Ad:tech conference. Thus, the software monitors, whom the specific user follows, and will deliver a targeted message to the user with an appropriate advert – reports Világgazdaság Online.
