Budapest sends messages to major cities through illuminated windows of empty hotels
A joint campaign is being launched by the Municipality of Budapest and the Association of Hungarian Hotels and Restaurants.
In the windows of empty Budapest hotels, after dark, we can read the 4U! message. The For You! inscription is issued by the lights in the rooms. With this tiny and understandable gesture, Budapest is trying to show solidarity with the rest of the world, where the coronavirus crisis is causing similar problems. The total stoppage of tourism and hospitality, curfews and insecurity are equally affecting every major city, company, citizen, and person who operates the city in this state of emergency. The 4U! is also for them.
The following hotels in Budapest have joined the light message so far:
Budapest Marriott Hotel
Intercontinental Budapest
Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge
Hilton Budapest
Kempinski Hotel Corvinus
Ritz Carlton Budapest
Hotel Moments Budapest
Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace
Hotel Clark Budapest
Mercure Budapest Korona
Corinthia Hotel Budapest
Danubius Hotel Budapest (Körszálló)
