Breaking News: Hungarian Gösser Spritz display is two-time POP world champion
Hungarian creativity proves to be competitive and internationally recognized in the point-of-purchase marketing industry. This year, the domestic POP sector can be proud of winning two world championship titles.
In a surprise announcement outside the official program, Ildikó Kátai, Secretary General of POPAI Hungary, shared exciting news at the Promotion Day conference. At the Shop! POPAI Global Awards — often referred to as the “POP Oscars” — where national POP competition winners from around the world compete, Hungary’s Gösser Spritz display became world champion in two categories. This display, which won the “Permanent Installation” category in the Hungarian POPAI Awards 2024, features a centrally cut-out glass shape illuminated with edge lighting, a table with an ice bucket and products, and overhead hanging glasses reminiscent of a bar counter. The unique setup was designed by POS Services on behalf of the Heineken team.

Australia and New Zealand dominated the field
The Global Awards recognized entries in 24 categories during the Shop! POPAI organization’s annual exhibition and conference, the MarketPlace event in Charlotte, USA. Out of nearly 100 entries, the international jury awarded contestants from 10 countries. Australia & New Zealand earned the most titles with 5 world championships, followed by the USA and Brazil with 4 each, the Czech and Slovak organizations with 3, and Hungary and the UK-Ireland region with 2 each. One title each went to participants from Argentina, Mexico, Japan, and Italy.
Hungarians excelled in the permanent categories
The illuminated Gösser Spritz permanent display won in both the Permanent, Signing & Graphics and Permanent, Alcohol and Tobacco categories.
Congratulations to the Heineken and POS Services teams!
