SIRHA Budapest, the largest food industry and HORECA trade fair in Central Europe, will open its doors again on March 3, 2026. The region’s most significant caterers and gastronomic experts will share their experiences and present their innovations for the seventh time at the Hungexpo Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center. The newly formed FUPI Hungarian Pizza Association will organize the Hungarian Pizza Championship for the first time at the exhibition.

Gábor Ganczer, CEO of Hungexpo, said at the press event announcing the exhibition: SIRHA is today the most important business forum for the food industry and HoReCa sector in the region, which can be organized by the region’s most significant market player, Hungexpo. He emphasized that the exhibition would not have been possible without the cooperation of the most important professional players.

Klára Tihanyi, the director of the SIRHA Budapest exhibition, reminded that the event is a meeting place for the profession. “Our goal is focused attention, in which real business decisions can be made,” he added. The exhibition director reported that most of the exhibitor spaces have already been sold out, but it is still worth applying for the remaining free spaces.

Giovanna Chiappini Carpena, the director of the Italian Institute of Foreign Trade (ICE) in Budapest, said that she was particularly pleased that Italy would be the guest of honor at SIRHA Budapest. She said that it is important for her country that Italian gastronomy is becoming increasingly popular in Central and Eastern Europe, including Hungary. This is proven by the participation of Italian companies at the exhibition, on the one hand, and the establishment of the FUPI Hungarian Pizza Association and the organization of the first Hungarian Pizza Championship.

Ákos Bősze, Head of HoReCa Business Development at METRO Kft., said that his company has been a professional partner of the exhibition for years. The reason for this is primarily that both Hungexpo and METRO are committed to quality gastronomy and gastroculture. Domestic raw materials have always been important to METRO, and this time they will be the focus of the exhibition’s largest stand.

Professional programs

The press conference announced that one of the most successful programs of recent years is the Future Store, which will be arriving this year with 20 partner companies. The market’s latest product developments, innovative device solutions, and services that are about to be introduced will be presented here. Unmanned units, data-driven solutions, special alternatives related to the customer experience – visitors can also encounter such novelties, among other things. At the START-UP SZIGET, 20 promising companies selected by the professional jury can present themselves, free of charge. Registered exhibitors can enter the SIRHA Innovation Competition with their products introduced since the previous exhibition. The main organizer of both events is Trade Magazine.

Two years ago, the international event organized by the HEPA Hungarian Export Development Agency and the Hungarian Enterprise Europe Network was a great success, where potential business partners could participate in the B2B meetings of the European Enterprise Network. The event provided an excellent opportunity for companies that are looking for business opportunities in the food industry and HORECA sector, or want to introduce their products and services to foreign markets. In view of the previous success, the event is currently being planned again.

A new feature will be the independent Magyar Borsziget and Aux Vignobles! French wine exhibitions. These will provide wineries with special attention thanks to the concentrated marketing communication and the prime location.
