100 ml tubes strengthen on an expanding market
Retails sales of toothpaste augmented by 6 percent in July 2008-June 2009, compared to the previous period, surpassing HUF 10 billion. In terms of quantity, the market did not change. Most of the toothpaste is sold in 51-75 ml tubes, but demand for the 100 ml is sharply increasing. The growing share of the 76-100 ml segment is noteworthy (from 13 to 18 percent in terms of value and from 18 to 30 in terms of quantity). Private labels’ market share remains low, 6 percent in May-June. As for toothbrush, 1.2 per capita is sold in a year. Sales in the category neared HUF 4 billion in June 2008-July 2009.
