Wine tourism in Hungary: From tastings to complex experience packages
Hungarian wine tourism, which only offered tastings and local sales in the nineties, has now developed into a complex and unique hospitality industry. Thanks to the resources and catering tenders available over the past decades, wineries have made significant improvements in their services. Today, many wineries offer accommodation, wellness spas and gastronomic experiences, which provide them with a significant source of income in addition to wine sales.
Transformation and development of wine tourism
The transformation of wine tourism accelerated especially during the Covid-19 epidemic, when outdoor programs came to the fore. According to new trends, we can even participate in wine tastings via an application. For example, after a missed wine trip, Dr. Simon Botond and his wife created the platform called Országos Bortúra, which is now also available as an application and aims to stimulate domestic wine tourism.
