Vilmos Kreil, the chairman of the Hungarian Bocuse d’Or Academy: – In the light of the work done so far I can say that all the conditions of a successful event are given. We selected the eight contestants at preliminaries and it seems that all of them are capable of winning! Charles Tjessem, the Norwegian winner of the Bocuse d’Or final in 2003, will be the chairman of the jury.

Contestants
Gábor Kostyál scored the most points in the preliminaries. He started training with his commis already in December. István Kiripolszki (Kogart) entered the Tradition and Evolution contest (held at the same time) as well, so he has to make double efforts. Gergely Kiss (Crocus-Gere Borhotel) has to travel 350 km every day to work and back. Gábor Mező (Café Erté) is the youngest contestant and now has more time to prepare than the one day before the preliminaries.
