BMI: Moderate slowdown in January
The seasonally adjusted January value of the Purchasing Manager Index (BMI): 49.9.
Compared to the previous January values, this year’s value is lower than the long-term average for this month (52.9) and also below the average for this month of the previous three years (52.7).
The sub-indices examined in the survey mostly decreased. Most of the sub-indices are still in the recovery range.
The employment index is 0.3 percentage points higher this month, indicating a slight expansion. In the past period, the index hovered around 50.0 points, which rose this month (51.1).
