Blokkk.com: hard times coming up for those with a cash register
From 2021, credit card payment will be mandatory where there is an online cash register. So far, we’ve spent more using cash than with a credit card.
According to the bill related to the central budget of 2021, from 2021, all service providers, such as, in addition to shopkeepers, for example, restaurants and accommodation establishments, are also obliged to provide the consumer with an electronic payment option. Of course, it is up to the consumer to decide how to pay, in cash or by credit card.
According to the data of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, at the end of 2019, domestic service providers operated 147 thousand POS terminals at 114 thousand acceptance points (it also follows that larger service providers operate several terminals in each of their units).
