Black Friday 2024: Not even a possible disappointment takes away the desire to shop
The popularity of Black Friday in Hungary remains unbroken: 94 percent of the adult population aged 18-79 have heard of it, and this year nearly half of the adult population plans to take advantage of the sales. Even a possible past disappointment does not mean a reluctance to buy, according to the survey by Reacty Digital. The main product categories they want to buy have not changed compared to last year, and men plan to spend more in this promotion this year as well.
94 percent of Hungarians aged 18-79 have already heard of the Black Friday sale and 37 percent have made a purchase in the context of Black Friday 2023, mainly those under the age of 45. In this period last year, the proportion of in-store and online customers also increased significantly compared to the previous year. Interest in this year’s Black Friday is also strong, every second Hungarian adult plans to take advantage of the discounts.
There was no significant change in the popular product categories, although the first and second places changed compared to the previous survey: a third of those planning to buy (34%) plan to purchase household and chemical goods, and three out of ten clothing products (31%) and household small and mainframe (29%). Half of those planning a purchase (54%) are thinking about using this service and, as in the previous year, this year they want to take advantage of the Black Friday discounts primarily for hotel reservations (18%).
