Encouraging snow forecast

Due to the bad weather of last year, 25 percent less grain grown on a 2 percent larger area, compared to the previous year –  the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced.

After last year's massive crop failure this year a higher visibility is accompanying the autumn sowings, because food prices have always been significantly depended from the price of grain.

According to the agro-meteorologists, in the upper half-meter layer of the soil – with the exception of the Szolnok area – moisture saturation level of the soil is close to one hundred percent. The wheat quality under the melting snow is good. (by our colleague)
