Bisnode: the willingness to start a business declined in the first half of the year

The number of companies decreased by one and a half percent, the number of company start-ups by 14.7 percent, while the number of liquidations increased by almost 40 percent in the first half of this year, compared to a year earlier, according to the Bisnode Group data published at the end of June 2020.

Compared to the first half of 2019, there were 14.7 percent fewer new enterprises, a total of 12,743 new enterprises, were established, which is more than two thousand less than in the previous year. Meanwhile, 2,352 companies were liquidated, 9,344 were forcibly liquidated, 7,041 companies were liquidated, and 12 went bankrupt, so compared to the same period last year, there were 7,272 fewer companies operating in Hungary at the end of the first half of 2020, according to the Bisnode group.
