Bioplastics: The raw material of the future
It was revealed at the 15th conference of European Bioplastics that the global bioplastics industry is growing fast. The market is expected to grow by 36 percent in the next 5 years. Global bioplastics production is forecasted to jump from 2.1 million tons in 2020 to 2.8 million tons in 2025. Bio-based polypropylene (PP) production will triple by 2025. Packaging will remain to be the most important sector where bioplastics are used: this sector constituted 47 percent of the full bioplastics market in 2020. //
