Billa, Walmart… Hungarians would welcome these international supermarket chains with open arms
Buyers would like to see several other global companies in Hungary, but they would not only buy food or clothes, but also beauty products in the newly established stores, reports Világgazdaság.
The newspaper writes that during the news about the opening of Primark, several commentators on social media wrote which global brand they would like to see in Hungary. Many people wrote that they would welcome the arrival of the German hypermarket chain Kaufland, which belongs to the same Schwarz group as Lidl, which has been present in Hungary for a long time.
The department store chain has more than 1,000 stores in Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia.
Previously, there was information that Tesco could withdraw from Hungary, and that its interests would be taken over by the Schwarz group, transforming them into Kaufland-compatible ones.
A popular reaction on Facebook was the German food chain, Billa, which is currently mostly active on the Austrian market, but also operates stores in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria.
