Wizz Air is closing its base in Debrecen
Wizz Air has announced that it will move one of its aircraft from Debrecen to Budapest in October 2024. The resettlement will take place after the end of the summer schedule, on October 27, so the change will not affect the summer travel period.
According to the airline, by relocating the plane, they want to consolidate their operations at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, which could increase traffic and the number of flights in the long term. The Airbus A321neo aircraft operating at Debrecen International Airport, which is equipped with the most modern technology, will remain part of the Wizz Air fleet and will transport passengers from Hungary to nearly 70 destinations in more than 30 countries.
The airline stated that popular flights from Debrecen will continue to be available, so passengers can fly to Burgas, Larnaca, London and Rome as usual. Affected passengers will soon be notified directly by e-mail about the changes.
