The country’s first McDonald’s is closing
Hungary’s first McDonald’s restaurant, the Régi posta utca unit, will be renewed in almost every element on the occasion of the 35th birthday of the Hungarian company. Special quality interior design materials used in exclusive restaurants are used during the renovation.
The renewal of McDonald’s iconic restaurant goes beyond the transformations usual for other units of the chain. It is expected to open its doors again in September, in an exclusive form, using elements made from real natural, in many cases handcrafted materials covering even the smallest details.
The interior walls of the restaurant will be decorated with real exposed concrete. The construction and placement of concrete slabs weighing up to 300 kg is a serious professional task during the renovation. In addition, in the McCafé area of the restaurant, the floor and walls are covered with natural wood panels, while in the rest of the restaurant’s guest space, a meticulously crafted and polished terrazzo covering is laid on site.
The elegant stone cladding of the restaurant’s exterior is echoed in the interior, as the tables are made not only of real wood, but of granite, as are the side walls of the service counter. The exclusive look also extends to the lamp covers, which are made of copper. This use of materials is completely unique in the Meki® world, even internationally. Copper, as a raw material, is also reflected in the inlays of the false ceiling and the pillar cladding.
