SPAR closes in Kisújszállás
SPAR in Kisújszállás will close permanently on August 24, Mayor Tamás Szűcs announced on his social media page. According to SPAR Hungary Ltd., the decision was based on economic reasons that became apparent during the annual performance review.
According to the company, the Kisújszállás store cannot be operated effectively in the future, so it will be open for the last time on that day. The company added that they will do everything they can to ensure that the employees affected by the closure are placed in SPAR stores in the area.
The mayor said that the municipality will immediately start negotiations with other retail chains so that a new store can open in the property in the city center as soon as possible. The news surprised many local residents, with several commenters believing that the store was busy and that they do not understand the reasons for the closure.
