Japanese bought everything before the VAT increase
Japanese retail sales in March grew at a rate has not seen in 17 years, because the customers stormed the store befaore the 1 April increase of the VAT.
Japanese retail sales in March increased by 11 percent, compared to a year earlier – according to the datas published on Monday. It is the first time since 1997 that the Value Added Tax (VAT) was increased in Japan from 5 percent to 8 percent, in order to balance the budget and reduce the national debt. (MTI, tozsdeforum.hu)
