Berlin overtook New York in the number of hotel beds
At the end of last year, 30 thousand more hotel spaces could be found in Berlin than in New York. On the basis of this year’s investments this number will increase by eight thousand in the German capital, where a new tourist record was recorded during the year-end holidays.
According to preliminary datas; in the last ten days of the year, at least 2 million people visited Berlin. In 2010 a record 20.8 million overnight stays were registered, but in October last year the number of overnight stays reached 19 million, so it is sure that 2011 brought another peak – reports MTI.
