Shell rents Tesco’s gas stations
After the necessary investigation the Economic Competition Authority, accepted the tranaction of Shell renting Tesco’s gas stations for a 15 years long-term lease.
The two companies announced their plans in February which affects 51 gas stations of Tesco. After investigating both network, the Economic Competition Authority pointed out that the Tesco gas stations have no effect on the nearby Shell filling station prices. According to the Economic Competition Authority’s view – participants in the merger will not have large market share which could give rise to concerns.
